Northern Roots Bee Co. is a Bay Area–based honey bee education and management company dedicated to restoring healthy pollinator populations and fostering a deeper connection between communities and the natural world.

The goal of this project was to create a logo that felt both grounded and meaningful—capturing the essence of the brand’s mission while remaining simple, versatile, and enduring.

The mark centers around a hand-crafted illustration of a bee in its natural habitat, symbolizing vitality, balance, and the interconnectedness between pollinators, plants, and people. The design leans into an organic, slightly imperfect quality to reflect the authenticity of the brand and the natural systems it supports.

Careful attention was given to linework, form, and proportion to ensure the logo feels refined yet approachable, with the flexibility to live across packaging, educational materials, and digital applications.

The result is a timeless, illustrative identity that captures both the mission and spirit of Northern Roots Bee Co.—rooted in nature, community, and a commitment to sustainability.
